We seek to appoint an outstanding teacher to deliver A level Chemistry as a part of our Queen Alexandra Sixth Form STEM provision .Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College was established in 2010 as a strategic partnership between Tyne Metropolitan College and three local schools: John Spence Community High School, Marden High School and Norham High School. In addition to the strong links with these partner schools, the sixth form attracts students from schools throughout North Tyneside, Newcastle and Northumberland.
This is the only sixth form college in North Tyneside and has a large cohort of students studying A level sciences and has outstanding results in Chemistry. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain the high performance achieved to date and be an outstanding teacher
The successful candidate needs to be able to demonstrate a proven track record in inspiring student to achieve the best results by employing a range of experiential, active and independent learning strategies. As a teacher you will be required to undertake the necessary planning, preparation, assessment and administration associated with teaching duties, and when required, contributes to curriculum development. As part of the role the successful candidate will also be expected to take part in interviewing, enrolment and induction of students onto the most relevant programmes.
It is essential for the candidate to hold a degree in Chemistry, a teaching qualification (or working towards) as well as a sound understanding of, and an interest in, current developments in education and Chemistry.
